Piranha in Amsterdam

maybe it was a pacu? they look a lot alike

also, what's the likelihood of a piranha surviving in
Amsterdam through the winter? probably nil, i'm thinking.

Sorry to disappoint you but the fish was caught in Stadskanaal which is to the north, a couple of hours away. It was probably released by its owner.

Someone in NJ caught a large piranha in the Delaware river near Trenton in the late 80s. It apparently survived the winter by living in a warm effluent, and took advantage of the teeming numbers of fish that reside in the river. *burp*
He had it stuffed and mounted, it was the size of a dinnerplate.
