Doing a Celebrity cruise to the following islands: St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, Curacao, Bonaire, and Aruba and are considering diving at a max of four or five of these (wife/dive buddy likes diving, but not every day). Bonaire and Curacao are must dives for me, but am somewhat ambivalent on the others. We dove in St. Thomas a couple years ago on a cruise, and the first dive was to a crappy piece of junk wreck, followed by an OK reef. However, that may have just been a bad dive ops choice, so I am still open to St. Thomas. Any recommendations on any of the other islands that would fall in the "really should do" category? We will probably use the ship's dive ops on this cruise where available because I can cancel the dive with 24 hours notice if necessary vs several days to a week prior for outside dive ops. Also, the last time I did one of these southern Caribbean cruises, the ship reversed the sequence of ports after departure because of weather which forced me to reschedule all of my outside dives. That was a pain in the butt using the ship's slow computer connections. Right now I am looking at diving all but Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados (snorkel these as a possiblility), but am open to recommendations for additions/deletions. Thanks in advance for any advice.
