I'm sure that this question has been covered numerous times before but I will be visiting Phuket with my daughter (DM & AOW) from 17th-22nd August 2016. Any recommendations (shops & sites) for day diving would be greatly appreciated.

The short answer is that August I'd not a good time to be in Phuket - it's monsoon season. Availability of day trips will be unpredictable.

Most daytrips will be possible, but there is a chance certain trips will be postponed.
August is a very good time. It is not as busy as in high season, so far less divers and boats at the divesites, and the diving can be really good.
