We live in Valparaiso, FL and dive out of Destin,
Is a width of 500 pixels wide small enough to not require a horizontal scroll bar?

Hello,

Well depends on the resolution the viewer uses. I.e. 800x600 vs 640x480. If you assume 640x480 then you'll be safe for all viewers. You then could put a hyperlink to a larger image.

Ed,

Assuming 800 x 600, I'm closing in on a picture width that won't require horzontal scrolling on the Scubaboard. 500 pixel width doesn't require scrolling, but it does force a horizontal scroll bar into the thread.

My last experiment will probably work (450 pixel width for my "auto-thumbnails").
