Hi Guys,

just new to the portal where I found some helpful information already :cool2:
I'm going over to Perth for christmas and would like to do some diving over there, preferred close to Perth. Was looking at heading to Rotto for some diving.
Any operators you would recommend? Would like to do a day trip (boat diving)...

I'm going with a friend (non diver) so a snorkelling option offered would be good as well. Also need to hire some gear since I'm only taking my Softgear over.

Thanks heaps for some tips

There are plenty of good ops in Perth. My first suggestion to you is to jump on the www.wadivers.com.au website, read through the forums and you'll get a feel for the place. Personally I recommend Dolphin Scuba in Welshpool - have found them to be very helpful and thoroughly professional.

There are a myriad of dives here in Perth, if you after an easy shore dive where your friend can snorkel as well, try Boy In A Boat reef off Hillary's. Perth Diving Academy offer heaps of boat dives off Rotto, it is a big boat so there will be plenty of divers aboard. Image Dive is another mob, they have a smaller boat, but will go just about anywhere, let them know your friends requirements and they may be able to help. If you want something with a bit of a challenge, then I would suggest the Key Biscayne, it's a sunken oil rig off the Lancelin coast, some operators do go there by boat so you don't have to drive, it is a two hour trip by boat though.
