Hi chaps,

I have the pleasure of visiting your wonderful country again next week for a few weeks, this time in Perth. My last trip was to Melbourne and was brilliant and helped in no small way by Saspotato who showed me 5 blue ringed octopus (including two mating) on a night dive. And that was the boring dive out of the 3 or 4 we did ;)

So, Perth/Fremantle.

Suggestions? Who's best to dive with? What are the best sites? I've been pretty busy at work so my usual rigorous recon regime hasn't happened so I'm hoping to short cut here.

If anyone from SB fancied a dive I'd be very much up for that too but of course wouldn't want to impose. Beers would clearly be on me though :D.

Anyhow, any tips, thoughts, etc. very much appreciated.

Cheers,
J

Hi,

Lots of great places to dive around perth. Are you staying in fremantle? I suggest maybe getting on a boat and heading out to Rottnest for the day. There are a few good shore dives around perth but maybe be better heading over to Rotto. Depending on when you are free most dive shops go to Rotto on the sunday but there are also a few that head over mid week if they have enough people. Or some even do the local reef dives as well.

Cheers Joel

Hi Joel,

Thanks for the response! I am indeed staying in Fremantle. Heading out to Rottnest is now on my agenda. My wife knows the place so maybe they can picnic while I play with the fishies :) Thanks for the details of the schedules, I'll hopefully manage some mid as well as weekend diving.

Cheers mate,

John
