personalize avatar question

Hey I have a bunch of pictures on my computer and I wanted to use one for my avatar but every one I try the computer says its to big. Does anyone know who to fit or downsize a picture to do this?

Just go to your photo handling program and see if it has a a menu item titled "Image Resize" and set it to downsize the pixel measurements.

Photoshop or paintshop pro can do the trick.
