hi to everyone:eyebrow:
i would like to know what could be considered a "perfect fit" for a dive fin
and can you recommend what brand and model
tnx

Aloha. Please help me help you. Are you talking full-foot or open-heel fins?

the ones that fit your foot, diving style, and personal preferance.

there are very few bad fins, as pretty much any fin will pass the minimum standard

I have about 4-5 pairs of perfect fins, it depends on the conditions of the dive

go for the "Goldilocks" approach. Not to tight, not too loose, not to big, not too small.

In terms of types you have basically two options:

paddle fins
split fins

Both have their pros and cons but in broad terms you can say that paddle fins tend to offer more obvious resistance and offer a little more fine manoeuvering control than split fins do in some situations. Niether type is faster or better/worse.

I won't recommend a type but I'll just point out.

- plastic bits will break
- if it looks cheap it probably is
- gimicks like "hinges" and bungies or things that make it look high-tek and fast are just gimicks.
- some fins are "heavier" than others both above and under water.

good luck.
