I just bought a Peregrine. You're right, the case is teeny & unusable if you use the strap. I'm going to use bungees, but still.

I've bought similar design cases on amazon for other stuff. These come in different sizes, someone may fine one that suits them. Here's 1 example:

 
IIRC - Case is fine if you remove the foam for the charging base...
 
It will fit with the bungees. I used some of my own as it's a bit thicker

I was able to use my case with the foam, with the straps installed. all I did was put it face down and cut a small notch in the foam to allow the long strap to go around the bottom of the foam. the short strap fit on top.
