All,
I understand the Perdix has a slightly smaller screen than the petrel. Are the numbers on the screen also smaller or did they simply make good use of the real estate? The reason I ask is even though the Perdix might make more sense to some (newer, smaller profile...etc) maybe the screen size of the petrel 2 has the advantage...unless of course they did what I said above with the Perdix and it actually has same size characters as the Petrel 2? Can anyone with both compare them for me?

I have both, hardly noticeable between the two. Both bright and easier to see.

It's only 2/10 inch. You'd have to closely study them side-by-side to discern a difference.

I've seen the Perdix in person and it was awesome but my buddy is older and although he has decent vision larger numbers are always better. I was just wondering if the Petrel screen being larger may have noticeably larger numbers for depth for example compared to the Perdix...even though the Perdix numbers seemed perfectly large enough anyways but again for him larger might be better.

Here's a handy comparison view:

And rec mode. Perdix is on left. They is a very slight difference.
