I am experiencing a weird issue with my Perdix 2. The right navigation button seems to engage by itself without me pressing it. I don't recall experiencing this issue while on my last dive trip, but I didn't actively engage with the device either other than the occasional interaction. I installed the v99 firmware upgrade yesterday and I am now noticing this issue. It's bad enough that I am unable to navigate within the menu system because the right button keeps getting engaged automatically without my involvement. I am not sure if this is due to a bug in v99 or if it's a sensor issue with my right button.

Checking here to see if others on v99 are facing a similar issue? I have also reached out to Shearwater regarding this - they had me try changing the sensitivity to low to see if that addresses the issue, but that didn't work either. I am waiting to hear back from them regarding next steps.

That sounds like a sensor issue rather than a software issue. If you have an imminent dive trip, I suspect Shearwater will loan you a computer while they have yours in for diagnosis and repair.

I’m not having that issue with my two Perdix 2s on V99. I agree with @NothingClever … sounds like a sensor HW issue. I suspect Shearwater will have you send it in to Dive-Tronix.

Ah, thanks for the inputs. That's what I figured would be the case, but was hoping it wasn't. The surprising part is that this device has seen 40 dives in total, so I wonder why the sensor is already malfunctioning.

Probably a faulty sensor or manufacturing defect. They will probably just replace it with a new unit would be my guess, but at worse they will repair it without issue.

Thanks for the suggestions folks - appreciate it. I am still waiting to hear back from Shearwater regarding next steps. I have a dive trip coming up in April to Tubbataha, so would want my Perdix 2 fixed well before that.

I had the same issue. For no reason mine began acting weird as you described. Sent it for service and they just replaced it.

Interesting - if you don't mind me asking, how many dives had the device been on?
