I'm a Fish!
Started scuba diving in HS and spent 2 years without ever leaving the pool from 82-83. Started a course while in the Marine Corps and was transferred back to the East Coast from California right before the open water dives. Now, 24 years later I am at it again but this time as a 45 year old.

Just recently completed an SSI course and once again waiting for the open water dives to finalize the cert. Have a significant background above and below the water while in the Marine Corps and have the elusive Aircrew Water Survival certification (WSQ).

I am looking to simply enjoy recreational diving with some trips to St Thomas, St Maarten and hopefully the FL keys along with some local diving. Will continue to take more diving courses after completion.

I noticed that there are very few of this meet and greet posts that get a reply so I am just throwing this out there. Enjoyed the course and instructors at the SSI training facility "Inland Water Sports" in Kingston, PA.

Semper Fi, I got my openwater certification and advanced while stationed at Camp Pendleton in 1987, finsihed through instructor while stationed in beaufort SC.

Semper Fi back at you. I was in Pendleton (22 area) when I started and was sent back to New River MCAS in Jacksonville, NC.

Welcome back to diving. Some of us started much later than 45.

We do our local diving at Dutch Springs, not too far south for you. Come down and try it sometime.

Heres another welcome back and come down and visit us at Dutch!!!

Stick with the Florida Keys. I dove in St. Maarten. Its ok. If you are there, go dive in Saba instead. More to see.

padipro1,

We will be on a cruise so I am trying to set something up for St Thomas as there is limited time on a cruise and I have other plans for St Maarten.

Thanks for the heads up about the Florida Keys. I am starting to hear more and more about the Keys. Maybe I will try to make a trip there this winter when we are freezing up here.
