I'm in the market for a new BC and tried on both the Aqualung Pearl & Lotus in the shop today. I preferred the fit of the Lotus, but have not worn a back inflator before. Can any comment on the benefits of one vs the other? After standing in a shop is not being in the water.
I currently have a UWATEC that is getting on in age and should be replaced. I've also use a standard weight belt .
The trouble I've had with it is that I am short waisted and it always wants to ride up (and No I 'm not going to bother with a crotch strap). After a few dives my back is sore too but perhaps that is not the BC's fault , perhaps I need to shed a few pounds.
Any comments on comfort, the sales rep commented about jacket styles are better at keeping on vertical on surface. Do the back inflators permit you to be comfortable vertically on surface or do you need to lay back and float?
I only tried on the Aqualung BCD's - are there other brand/models I should take a look at?
thanks a bunch for your help!
