A new school of diving opened here in the neigborhood and they say that the certification is given by PDIC (Professional Diving Instructors Corporation) with web site Scuba Diving School: PDIC International. The official page says very little.
I've not heard of it before and It's not listed here.
Any thoughts ?
Is it known ?

Exactly what Walter said.

PDIC has been around for many, many years and has a solid reputation. A very good buddy teaches for them. Organization is a member of WRSTC, has been involved with DEMA for years and has charter schools in many countries around the world.

Now, that's interesting. I did a search on PDIC instructors in Florida, and sent an email to all those that had an email listed. Fully 70-75% came back as undeliverable.

What gives?

The addresses are out of date or contain typos because of errors during data entry I imagine.
Not uncommon.

Trace Malinowski is the PDIC Technical Training Director and is an active member of ScubaBoard. He can answer your questions.

Yep, since the 1960's, I believe.

As Walter mentioned Trace can give up to date information on PDIC.

I have been to the HQ in Scranton and can join other posters in attesting to their high quality standards.

Since the OP is in Argentina, it may be noted that our South American PDIC instructors are usually some of our best due to their heavy technical training and experience. PDIC Brasil paved the way for a DIR recreational through technical program from OW through AOW, specialties, pro level and all the way to wreck penetration, cave and trimix.

If the dive center boasts lots of backplates, wings, long hose primary regulators in their inventory, you may be quite lucky to have access to some incredible instructors.

PDIC is family owned. While PDIC was one of the first agencies to have online C-card processing for instructors, the site doesn't allow instructors to update their own contact information. Instructors need to notify PDIC to remind them to update their web info if they change their contact info.

One of my friends, a PDIC IT named Mark, moved from Hawaii to Japan to Vietnam this year alone. He processes C-cards online and uses the telephone to order materials. HQ is a little old-fashioned. They prefer instructors to call them and let them know what they need and how things are going. This seems strange to a younger Internet generation that keeps in touch via Facebook rather than just calling friends on the phone.
