I've been searching the net for several days for a really good Dive Log software with no luck. I want something that I can print out to replace the existing PADI log book. While I intend to fully use the log book, I'm also sort of a neat freak and would like to have a clean print-out.

If anyone knows or can recommend a really good electronic Dive Log, please let me know.

IDL = Internet Dive Log...http://www.immersions.com/idl

It's a complete online log book. You download the program to your PC and you don't have to be online to enter your information. When you do logon, you sync your computer with the internet. I do this by taking my laptop on trips and doing the sync when I get home. One big advantage to this is if your computer crashes, all is not lost...you just recover the files that are stored online.

You can download several different computers as well as Citizen's Hyper-Aquland watch through the program. It then automaticall fills in all the data recorded by your computer/watch.

You can also printout each dive showing all the information and profiles.

Thanx...I thaught about IDL, however, I was looking more for something that I can use to log my dive and then print them out as a replacement to the PADI log book. While I would still keep the PADI log book, I would like to have a neat print out that I would not have to worry about getting messed up.

Reason for all of this, I was in Jamaica a couple of weeks ago. While diving, my log book got soaked by some dope who went nuts with the water hose and almost comletely destroyed my log book.

Michael...you said - "I was looking more for something that I can use to log my dive and then print them out as a replacement to the PADI log book. So you want a program that you can enter all your information, then print out and put in your logbook instead of the handwritten pages? In the example you stated, anything in your logbook will get ruined, no matter whether it was printed on a computer or not!

Have you thought about leaving your logbook in a safe, dry place and logging your dives at the end of each dive day? You can record your dives on your slate and transfer it to the logbook at your leisure.

Maybe I'm missing something here...I'm very anal about my logbook entries but I make sure it never get close to the water.

Maybe you should look into waterproof pages...

Check out Suunto Dive Manager. It's free and you can manually enter dives into it regardless of what kind of computer you have. Course if you have a Suunto computer, you can transfer dives from it to the software. Anyway, it has a print feature that prints out just about anything you'd ever want to know about that dive. I uploaded a screenshot of one of my printouts from a dive I done while in Hawaii. You can see it here, the printout looks exactly like it and it all fits on an 8 1/2 x 11 page. I manually entered this dive, since I don't have the transfer cable yet.

I use a program called WLog. It's from a German guy, so the English is "funny" in some places, but apart from that it's a great program. It even let's you transfer your dive-profile from the Aladin computers.
You can get it for free from http://www.temesvari.de/wlog/starts.htm

Have fun,

Andy

Why don't you just print your pages on waterproof paper? There are a bunch of different brands-I use Rain Rite. You can also buy waterproof dive log notebooks from Ebay.

If you need the Rain Rite distributor, let me know.

Thanks for all the responses. I will take a look at the Suunto dive manager. What I would *REALLY* like is for something compatible with the Citizen Hyper Aqualand. I managed to pick one up in Jamaica for $200. Great price if you ask me, however the software that comes with it is crap. One piece of software I found at http://go.to/divelog called Divelog 1.1 seems to be good, but there is no way to download it. Any ideas??
