Hello WWII Aviation Wreck Enthusiasts,

Are there any PBM Mariners, “Flying Boats” wrecks with in dive depths?

We have three known intact PBMs in Kwajalein’s lagoon. The models are PBM-3D, PBM-3R and PBM-5.

If anyone is interested my dive buddy, Dan Farnham, wrote an article on Kwajalein’s PBMs.

There is a well preserved PBM Mariner in about 70' of water in Lake Washington in Seattle. It's a great dive if you have access to a boat.

Edited to add: Here is a link to the information about the PBM-5 in Lake Washington

From our own @beldridg :
PBM Mariner Photogrammetry Model (San Diego — 100+ fsw)

Looks like there's one of SoCal, too. I thought he posted on SB as well, but found his blog post first.

Thanks! Here are a few other links:

The wreck was originally located and identified by Steve Lawson.

Damn Now I want one of those here in South Florida so I can get to it. We have a bunch of boat/ship wrecks here but no good plane wrecks that I am aware of.
