Found out a few months ago that my first real dive buddy passed away. I knew he was having some kind of odd medical issues but though he would get through them.
When I first got certified in Virginia Beach back in 2005ish, I started posting here on SB. I only knew people far away that dove and wasn't sure where I was going with the hobby and cert. Patrick quickly jumped in on the regional forum and was quick to say let's going diving! Trips to Lake Rawlings (now lake Phoenix) was the usual along with some trips out of Virginia Beach with Lynnhaven Dive Center. Maybe a boat ride or two with Dive Quarters. I'll never forget 10' in black water river or a botched dive off the eastern shore with fishermen yelling at us from a pier. His buddy Steve would come sometimes, and we would often meet up with Joe (wandr) who was from Northern Virginia at the time. Wandr was another one that joined in getting dives in, he too found us here on Scuba Board.
Rest in peace homey and thanks for all the good dives, some of which were real confidence builders. Always upbeat and I know your family misses ya.
