Hello all! I'm new to the forum and new to diving. I'm going to Cozumel in May. Do I need a passport to get there and back to the US without any problems?

Until 2007 you are okay with picture ID and birth certificate. I would recommend just getting now to make everything easier. You will need it soon anyways. It makes customs easier too. Plus you get that nice little stamp.

In this day and age, a passport is simply a good idea.
