I am looking for some feedback regarding your dive experiences while diving with Papa Hogs Dive Emporium. Please post good and bad info.

Was there with my son in 03. Enjoyed the diving with Papa Hogs. Well run operation. Most days we were on six packs but when the weather blew up we went out on a larger boat when many other divers did not get out.
I will dive with them again when next in Cozumel.

Dove with them on our first ocean dives last Feb, Mike and Margaret have a great little operation. Small boats (I don't think we had any more than 6 divers any day) and our DM's were attentive. The guy running the equipment room wasn't very pleasant while helping with weights but I'd dive with them again with no reservations.

No personal experince, but a good friend that I trust completely speaks very highly of Papa Hogs. He has over 600 dives, and that is the Cozumel Dive op her recommends.

FWIW - YMMV - W

Everything I have read is all good. But I like to be safe. I figured the divers that dive there is the best way to find out.

My wife and I dove with them last year. Margaret was a real sweetheart and was very helpful. Mike was a bit of a jerk the first two days, but really nice after that. From what I have heard he is getting burnt on the business. They have (had?) several small fast boats and one big boat. At least one of the small boats don't have canopies, which can be uncomfortable. In general, their staff was very friendly and competent. As a whole, they are a good dive op and I would dive with them again.

I think there are better ops out there. I dived with them on a last-minute basis when the op I was supposed to dive with cancelled (not enough divers or bad weather or perhaps both). Anyway, we went out in their larger boat. REally bad diesel smell if you are sitting near the back of the boat. With 12 divers, it was a bit of a gong show getting geared up. I decided to sit out the second dive. First time ever. Just didn't feel like dealing with the hustle, bustle and smell. Went and sat up front and was glad I did.

I was on the boat with Marg...

I dove with them a few years ago. Easy to work with. Small, fast boats can be a little rough and uncomfortable. Just about all the diving freedom you could want.
