Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing one of a FT2 or an Olympus Tough 8010, and I'd be getting the case to come with it.

I've used the Tough, and I like it a lot, and my question is how do they compare, as I have been offered the FT2 at a cheaper price. If they're more or less the same, brilliant, but if the FT2 is harder to use, or has less functions, I'd rather pay more and get the Olympus.

Thanks...

Scott

You have completely false information, FT2 is much better than 8010 (I've had both: Panasonic FT2 (TS2) vs Olympus 8010 album | Primoz | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.). In general, Olympus is the worst possible choice when buying compact underwater camera. Panasonic FT3 is the best camera at the moment, and FT2 has the same optics as FT3. Even Pentax UW cameras, which has no optical IS, produces better images than Olympus SW, Tough and TG cameras.

FT2 is also very easy to use and it even has the best ever automatic UW mode built in compact UW cameras, which practically never makes mistakes. Check my UW photos and videos.

But one thing is very true: 8010 is the most mechanically robust underwater camera!
