I just don't log dives
I'm heading down to Coz soon and I've ordered the DMW-MCTZ5 (it's on it's way from Amazon). I'll have it handy for a couple of weeks to play with it before I leave. I'm also taking my T2i and tripod for topside shots, but the investment in underwater gear for it is just too steep for my budget.

This will be my first attempt at underwater photography. Besides placing the silica gel in the housing and setting the camera to underwater mode (red filter), are there any other key pieces of advice you can offer? eI'm not sure if I'm willing to invest in a grip just yet, it will depend on my finances between now and the time I leave. I guess it depends on just how much of a difference I think it will make. But I'm trying to be frugal.

I've read through several threads and I'll continue to read more before I leave, but thought I'd just post this here in case others with this camera had advice that wasn't in the previous threads to date.

One question in my mind is should I be taking more stills or more video? Is it difficult or even possible with this housing to switch between modes?
