We are going to Palau over Christmas. We are planning on staying at Pacific Palau Resort and will be diving with Sam's. We are flying from LAX. Does anyone have any hints for flights? Also, other suggestions are always welcome. Thanks!

Set your watch to the time it will be when you land at your final desitination and start living that time zone as soon as you get on the first plane. Drink as much water as you can. Jet lag is part body clock and part dehydration. If you can get Ambien or another sllep aid to help reset your clock.

the flight going over isn't as bad as coming back - the flight over it is daylight most of the way, get catnaps when you can and eat at the airports a decent meal (the airline food consists of bread, crackers, and more bread.... yuk). Our flight left LAX at 9am, stops in Honolulu, Guam, Yap, then arrived at Palau 1am their time (you lose a day too so don't forget that).

If you haven't booked yet, think about using one of the travel specialists like Ultimate Dive Travel - Scuba Diving Tours - Scuba Dive Vacation or Island Dreams Travel scuba diving vacations, cozumel scuba diving, dive travel, dive resorts, diving trips as the price for you will be around the same if not less, plus they can take all the hassle out of it. Send them an e-mail with your requests and see what kind of price they can get you.

And get TRIP INSURANCE..... just in case a flight gets canceled mid-trip or worse. It isn't that expensive and saves the worrying.
