Hello.

Am going to Palau and Yap in December/Jan. Am thinking about dividing our time between Koror and Peleliu. Anyone been to either Storyboard or Dolphin Bay on Peleliu and willing to offer recommendation? Thank you!

Been to both very bare bones like staying in a Youth Hostel. Not much to do in Peleliu after diving. You need to fill out your member profile.

Still on a little rock in the Pacific

Thanks for the reply. Added some info to my profile.

Re Peleliu - worth it to stay there to be closer to some of the sites? Preference - Storyboard or DB?

Thanks again!

We liked Storyboard in 2001. Peleliu Divers was very good. Food was good. The cabins are simple but adequate. Weather was unbelievably hot. And it's true that there's nothing to do when you're not diving, except the WW2 history tour, which is very cool.

Can you tell more about Peleliu Divers (size of the boat, of the group per guide etc.)?
Do they carry tanks to the boat etc.?
How about the beaches?
Yours,
Liberty

Keep in mind that my info is 6 years old.

At Peleliu Divers, Godwin is the divemaster. He's good. The boat was a single engine Boston Whaler type open boat in good condition. Size of the dive group was only 3 or 4 people. They carried the tanks, I think. We did some ripping current dives (Peleliu Corner and Peleliu Express in particular). Current fast enough to push the purge button on your regulator when you face into it & are hooked to the reef. Safety stop at Peleliu Express was in blue water screaming towards the Phillipines. Every time we surfaced the boat was right there, ready to pick us up.

There are no beaches on Peleliu. The island is surrounded by reef which drys at low tide.
