I have searched the forums and find that most of you who frequent Palau, land-based dive with either Sam's or Fish n Fins. What about Neco Marine? It looks like smaller groups on the boats and that is our preference. Also, do you have advise on which dive ops lug your gear off and n the boat for you? I saw that SAMs makes you load your own gear on the boats each day and after the dive day too. I prefer, at my age a more valet dive op. any suggestions? Thanks!

Neco Marine was about a 2 minute walk from Sea Passions hotel. We stopped in there on our last day but didn't ask anything about their dive op. I am sure you can email them. Their store was really nice! Wish I could be more helpful.

I have been looking into the same thing. It seems that Neco Marine has the highest level of service (according to tripadvisor reviews), they claim to be the luxury dive center. Of course this comes at a price. They are much more expensive than the other options. I believe two dives at fish and fins is something like 130 while neco is 160 i believe. I am actually pricing packages with them for now.

I don't mind paying a bit more for less people on the boat. It's more relaxing that way. I have requested a quote from Neco Marine and will post my results when I hear from them.

I found an aerial map of Koror on Lonely Planet. It looks like Neco Marine is located between Pacific Royal Hotel and Sea Passion.

Neco is right between the two hotels, and very close to both. I don't recall bumping into anyone around here that's used Neco, everyone I know pretty much uses Sam's or Fish 'n Fins.

I would think that you could work a deal with any of the dive operators or with your boat crew to get your stuff hauled on and off the boat for you. The locker at Sam's is real close to the dock, but at low tide it's an uphill climb.

Not having as many people on the boat can be nice, but in Palau it really doesn't make much difference in terms of diving because when you get to the popular dive sites there's likely to be half a dozen boats there already, so there won't be any shortage of divers in the water. The marine life really doesn't care how many divers are around, but it can get a little crowded at times. Lots of the dives are tide/current dependent, so if you want a good dive there is likely to be a crowd regardless of who you dive with.
