Has anyone out ther gone on both the Palau Agressor and the Maldives Aggressor? I have spoken with divers who who gone on one or the other, and hear they are both great. I am trying to decide on which one to go on next year.

I set up a trip last year, and was deciding between Palau, Maldives, and PNG. I ended up going to Palau and had a great time on the Ocean Hunter I. The info I got was that Palau had more varied diving, with wrecks, reefs, walls, caverns, and verge-of-deep-blue spots like the Blue Corner in the mix. I can't compare the Agressor boats for the two locations, nor can I even compare the two destinations from experience, but I can say that I had an utterly fantastic week of lots of different styles of dive sites in Palau. I'm also keen to go to someplace like Raja Ampat, but I must save some more wampum first. (In the meantime I'm squeezing in 4 days in the Philippines in October as part of a work trip).

That's a tough question. I've been to Palau (Agressor) and Maldives (Manthiri) and would love to go back to either place, though I'd be interested in trying the Aggressor or Dancer boats in the Maldives next time. FWIW, I found the diving in the Maldives plenty varied too, though it's definitely a way different place than Palau. I mostly liked the diving we did in the Maldives better, but I think that could have easily changed as a result of pure luck. So maybe flip a coin...

If you're going to do both eventually, maybe start looking at things like airfare/prices/deals, conditions if you have a time of year in mind for this trip, and if there's room on the boat when you want to go. Looking at all the other stuff might help make the decision.

Thanks for the input, Decided to do the 2 week Velasco reef itinerary in Palau next year.
