Im a new padi open water certified diver and want to move to adv. Any body know the difference between padi and ssi. It seem to me the only diff is the cost. Any help?

shellbackdiver1:my SSI DivCon/Master is....well Ill say....average.
shellbackdiver1:I see you have over 6000 post...obviously you know what a SSI Dive Control Speacialist is.
shellbackdiver1:Correct me if I wrong but I think SSI is promoting the home study rather then class room training similar to PADI. Had a chance to look at the new SSI (OW) manual last week and it appears a 3rd grader could understand it. Im saying this in such manner that makes sense for home study.
Cost depends who you do your class with. Also I think it all has to do with the instructor...My PADI OW was great and learned alot, I still go diving with him often. AOW was OK and my SSI DivCon/Master is....well Ill say....average.
