i have a soon to be 8 year old (may2) and i have been looking into the padi seal team program.he has expressed an interest in the program so santa claus got him the crew pack for christmas.wondering if anyone has had any experience with the program good or bad.my wife is a little apprehensive but i guess thats all part of being an over protective mother.thanks

My son did the program and loved it. The kids were well supervised (in his group at least) and the instructor really stressed safety. One of the great things about PADI's Seal Team program was that it helped him to learn the basics and get comfortable with the equipment so that when he started to beg us to get certified at the age of 10 we knew he had enough experience to know what he was getting into. It also got him far enough down the road so that when he started his certification classes (we did them through PADI) he had no trouble keeping up with the adult learners. If I were you I would talk to the person running the program and ask to see a current group's class. If it looks well run I'd go for it!
