I'm doing the PADI Rescue Certification in October, and I've just completed the FirstAid/CPR course through the AHA, but it's at the Health Care Provider level and the manual is mentioning First Response.

Do I need to go back for more training or is this level adaquate?

TIA, Butch

No, you do not. The prerequisites are:

EFR Primary Care — proof of current CPR training.
EFR Secondary Care — proof of current first aid training.

Your AHA training covers CPR and first aid training.

I spoke to the instructor and he said that the only difference was training for 2-man CPR and Oxygen training. I may add those for the refresher course, but I had private training and it was hard to lock the guy down for a day to get it done.

Thanx Again!

Interesting.

EFR (Emergency First Response) does not train for 2 person CPR either, and the prerequisite is EFR or equivalent.

You will learn the required O2 training as part of the Rescue course - it is included.

PADI does offer an Emergency Oxygen Provider course, however it is not a requirement for the Rescue course.
