Hello all,
I'm a new diver (just got my OW certification) but I don't live in a coastal city. Because of this, diving schools here offer the theoretical + pool practices of the diving courses, and then you are referred to a diving center where you can get your certification after the necessary immersions.
I recently received some pub from a diving school that is offering the OW + AOW courses as a single package. That is, you get the OW and the AOW theory and pool practices, and then you go somewhere else to do the necessary immersions and get the certifications.
Is that combination of OW + AOW valid PADI? Isn't it strange to give an advanced certification to someone that has barely get the most basic certification?
If this is valid, how many immersions are required to get both certifications: 5 or 9 (4+5)?
Thank you very much for your information.
