Hi Everyone, :)

My names Josh, and i live in Brisbane Australia, -

I did have a search for related topic threads "PADI Brisbane" but no luck for any matches.

Im new to SB (This will be my third post and my third thread.) and am planning to go for my "PADI Open Water Diver" in about 5 weeks. And have decided to try and find a reliable shop to do the course through within that time.

I did a quick google search and have found a website of a place that looks like it would be good to do the course through.

Its called,

SUNREEF Scuba Diving Services

(I was going to post the website so people could check out the SUNREEF website for me and give some feedback but im not allowed to post URL's yet! - I promise im not a spammer, ><.)

But if anyone could check it out that would be great.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with SUNREEF?

The website looks great but after reading a few of the posts on the forum id really like to find a place with good instrctors and get my moneys worth. Id like to learn properly and would really like to find a quality place not too far away from my area (Brisbane) that will really put the effort and the time into teaching me and the other people in the class properly.

SUNREEF is located at "Mooloolaba" Which according to the website is about an hours drive out of Brisbane, but according to google maps is an hour and 45 mins away.

2 hours is probably the max im willing to travel (And my parents as i dont drive yet. ><) to go for my "PADI Open Water Diver" But would probably willing to travel a bit further for my advanced open water and "Beyond" tho of course if the place i go through for my "PADI Open Water Diver" was really good quality and worth the money id probably keep going through them advancing through the courses (Slowly) as id like to get up to Divemaster.

Any info would be great!

Thanks for reading,

Aussie!

Josh:

Try Brisbane diving dot com. I dove with Pro Dive Brisbane last year -- good operation, though the two guys I know there aren't there any longer. If you go see them, as how to get in touch with Sebastian Thomas (Seth) and/or Peter Smedley. Seth is a fantastic teacher, and they are both great divers. Tell em Steve the Canadian said HI! if you talk to them (Seth or Peter). Pro Dive is SSI now, but Seth taught PADI.
They're in Milton -- suburb of Bris.

Hey Josh & Welcome to SB!

I cant tell you about Sun Reef or other centres, but i think you should also consider freelancers. You can find heaps of instructors on the gold coast who refuse to work for dive shops and are much friendlier towards their customers.Im currently doing my DM course with one of those instructors.

Also, price is usually cheaper than those offered by centres. You can find other dive shops here:
