check with your instructor. If he/she is an IDC staff instructor they can do it.Or go to an IDC and it will be included in that program.

The reason I ask here is that I find that the Instructors/Master instructors at the LDS have a tendency to tell you about all the easy stuff and seem to forget to tell you about the hard stuff. They don't want to scare you off, rather they want to sign you up.
So that is why I am asking here. I am looking for something on the lines of what I had for my Divemaster course BTW I only found out all I had to do after paying my money and signing up. You need to do this and that and get a minimum score of this.

In general, you will not only need to perform the required skills at a higher level of skill than you did as a DM, you will learn a teaching sequence for demonstrating them, and you will be graded on that.

You will learn how to evaluate skills in the OW part of the class, and you will do a briefing and evaluation in the OW.

You will learn the basics of classroom instruction technique and demonstrate it.

You will do a lot of reading on instructional theory and other stuff related to being a professional--that is, earning money through dive instruction.

You will have to go through some instructional sessions in which you are taught stuff related to the above reading.

You will have to show a working knowledge of the standards and an ability to find information in the instructor's manual.

boulderjohn, Thanks for your insight, Is there much regarding Physics and Physiology. I have had my fill of that stuff for a while and want a break. I want to be better prepared before the AI.

No.

You repeat all of that, though, when you get the instructor exam.

Bouldr john has it pretty much all said. You will find that if the DM course was properly done that the AI program can be a walk through the park.
BoulderJohn,I just returned this weekend from Boulder, went up to the flatirons and drove up to Estes park.Nice country out there but no saltwater:)..

And if you go south to Sand Dunes park, you will find a fantastic beach.

Still no salt water, though.

Colorado's official state motto declares that we are only a plane flight away from really great diving.

Having moved to Hawaii from the High Country, I find there are a lot of transplants from the C states; all the ones with a coast, and Colorado! Colorado has a lot of adventurous folk (and thin ones too). :)

According to a recently released report, Colorado's level of fitness (measured by, I believe, the typically inaccurate measures of obesity) is the best in the nation.

This thread is rapidly being hijacked.
