Packing Express Tech for travel

Was hoping to get some advice on the best way to pack the Zeagle ET for travel. Should I remove the bladder from the backplate and fold it or roll it ? or maybe best to just leave the whole BC in one piece and lay it flat ? Thanks for any advice that anyone is willing to share.

I just lay it flat and pack around it. I do loosen the LP inflator hose and move it so that it is pointed down instead of up. Packs better that way.

Same here. I lay the ET in my carry on and pack the rest of my gear around and on the ET. I get the ET, mask, regs, SMB, 3 mil shorty, beanie, gloves and a small video camera case.

My whole kit except for my fins in one carry on.

If you put it in a carry on take your shears or knife off and put in your checked luggage, security collects quite few from forgetful divers.

I pack my ET deflated and with the bladder facing down in my scuba gear travel suitcase with my fins on each side and the remainder of my kit laid down on top of the backplate (thermal protection and tool pouch). I carry my reg assembly, extra reg, dive computer, Sealife camera and mask in my personal item bag and my clothing in my carry-on bag. This is how me, my GF and several diving friends do travel.

I'm a flat packer too. Just suck all the air out of the bladder to get it the thinest package possible.

Thanks for the tips. I think the 44 lb bladder is a tad too large for the "carry-on" that I was planning to use. Will probably put it in the checked luggage, with the fins.
