Thinking of purchasing this setup for underwater photography and video. Mainly just for fun. I have a Canon T3i but I don't want to have to spend $1,000 on a housing for it.

Before you say, "well if it's for fun buy little jimminy cricket waterproof camera for cheap" :) . I've already decided this is what I want, I have an extensive knowledge of cameras topside (after all, it is my career :) ), and I'm looking in to starting underwater photo and video to further my experience for possible other jobs in the future. So, has anyone used this setup, or can tell me about the camera for underwater. It seemed like a great buy. And someday I'll probably buy that housing for the T3i, but for now, this is it

Hi SnorkelLA,

Its a great camera in a brilliant underwater housing. Just got back from dives it, full review can be seen here:
https://www.housingcamera.com/Nikon-P7100-Fantasea-Housing-Underwater-Review-a/316.html

I also just did a pool fashion photo shoot with it and I dived with the previous model , P7000, quite a bit so I will be happy to provide further information. You can find plenty of photos on our gallery : Underwater Photography Gallery | Mozaik

You can post any questions here or send me a PM/email.

Good luck.

I have used the previous model for 6 months now. Very happy with it. The camera works very well both topside and below, and you have full control over all settings and adjustments.
I have been using it with the Light and Motion Sola 800, on dives mostly in Norway.
Love the wideangle and +10 subsee diopter macrolens you can get for it.

Thanks guys for the insight. Probably going to be buying it at next paycheck :)
