Just a heads up for divers looking for boosted mix in GTA... the folks at Aquasub on Bayview have just installed a Haskel in their trimix station. PM me if you need contact info.

Thanks

And it works beautifully! Plus they can now do the top ups for the half used mixes w/o bleeding much $$$

Wow

Great news Doppler

There seems to be such a boom in haskel sales and back yard warrior fill stations these days, soon there won't be any money for you dive shops to earn from gas blending. stop teaching what will eventually put you out of business as it reminds me, of the crying teck instructor who taught a student up to the instructor level who eventually came back and took the original instructors turf and business.

Mr A

Its a gas booster pump.

Only a very low man with a big insecurity complex would wish anything other than his son becoming a better man than he.

I look for instructors who agree with the above statement. Not the weak men who don't.

Thank you Rick. Interesting. I take it that a haskel is not essential but rather an inhancer for the pump.

Marie - if you have a tank with 1,500 psi in it already, and a supply bank with 1,200 psi, you're going to need a Haskel to fill it.

Alternatively, if you wish to get O2 up to 3000 psi, you're going to need a Haskel since O2 comes in supply bottles which are filled to 2,400 psi.

And Mr. Adams - dude, that's just sad and pathetic.

The Haskel is the pump. Haskel booster pump.

It takes a low pressure gas and compresses (boosts) it to a higher pressure.

Now you can take your big supply cylinder with 800 PSI left in it and top off say a 32 mix with 2000 PSI remaining with the 140 PSI or so of oxygen needed to remake it a 32 mix at 3000 PSI.

Without the booster you'd need to drain your mix and lose the other 280 PSI of 02 to do this.

It really starts making sense on the more expensive helium and when doing argon fills.

A good a reasonably priced book on the subject can be found at www.airspeedpress.com
