I'm going to be ordering my bp/w and regs this week. After trying out a few different rigs (OxyCheq and OMS) for the last few dives, I can't wait to get my own rig.

As much as I like the DSS stuff, my LDS stocks OxyCheq and they've been really good at letting me try stuff out so I'm getting a rig from them. (I dive dry and wear 24 lbs on the belt with an AL80.) I'll initially be diving with an AL80 and an AL40 sling bottle. Diving with a steel tank is in the forseeable future so I've decided on a 45 lb wing.

My question is whether to get a standard or a signature series wing. I've used a 45 lb standard and a 30 lb signature series. Is the signature series wing more buoyant when empty?

Also wondering whether to get a standard STA or a weighted STA. Anyone use the weighted STA?

I'm guessing you're buying from Ocean Quest in Vancouver. I recently bought the same setup you described along with stainless steel cam buckles. I am very happy with the product.

I can't comment on the bouyancy characteristics of signature wing vs the standard wing - I assume you are talking about the same lift capacity. I guessing it is negligible; the SS cam bands I bought probably have a greater effect.

I decided not to purchase the weighted STA due to my budget. I could have bought either the weighted STA or the signature series and I decided that the signature series was more important. I'm planning on making some STA weights as shown on Kidspot's website.

Good luck with the purchase. Say hello to Greg and Todd for me.

Signature, Signature, Signature, Signature!!!

In the event of any failures, send the bladder back, no need to replace the whole wing!!!

That's why I LOVEEEE dual bladders!

LOL! Yah, my LDS is Ocean Quest. I did PADI AOW and ANDI CSU there.

I'll probably get the 45 lb signature wing. Comparing the standard and signature wings, there is a lot more material on the signature wing so I was wondering if it's more buoyant. I guess you must have one of the weight harnesses that are made in Victoria.

I'll be over on the island on Saturday, diving the G.B. Church and the Mackenzie out of Sydney. Also planning a trip to Victoria in July. Would be nice to dive there with some SB locals.

Actually my weight harness (my hips) was made in Ontario, but let's not get into that...

Let us know when you're coming out in July. I would enjoy to seeing the Oxycheq wing in action. The eyes on the back of my head unfortunatly can't see through neoprene.
