I picked up a 30# Mach V from Golem Gear/Tampa Adventure Sports this week and did a short test dive in the lake this afternoon. I was very , very pleased with everything about the wing and the transaction. I talked to Patrick at Oxycheq and he was very helpful and knowledgable. I ordered the wing from Golem (great sale prices) and it was delivered to their associated shop, Tampa Adventure Sports, within 2 days.

I was using the wing w/ a Koplin stainless plate, STA and HOG harness. Wetsuit was a Bare 5/4 Velocity and Turtle Fins. Tank was a Genesis HP steel 80. With 2 X 3lbs in a weight belt, trim was right on. I was a little concerned that the 80 would be too short, as this wing is designed for normal AL 80's , but it worked very well with the short tank as well. The inflator hose length was good, it sat right about nipple height, which is a little more convenient that the really short (12" ?) hose on the Oxycheq Signature Series 40# doubles wing that I have for use with the same plate.

It's a very compact, well designed rig and I'm looking forward to doing lots more diving with it.

Just did my first 5 dives on the Mach V this weekend also. I have no prior experience with BP's so have nothing to compare it to. Did not use any weights with the BP and STA. That was nice. A BP really helps you out on your trim. My buddy's comments was that from below, you could not see the wing. That is streamlined.

I have to get used to the harness though. I think mine is adjusted right but if I dont clasp my hands together in front of me, the straps slide just a bit outward and makes the rig have a bit of roll. This is why I wanted to order a chest strap. Ill give it a few more dives though. Any comments on this? Sorry giles45shop for the mini hijack.

congrats on your mach v, I just got the extreme version two weeks ago and could not be happier with it. Its hard to say if you have the harness rigged correctly without seeing it on you. After I made a few adjustments to mine it fit perfectly, no need for a chest straps. It should fit pretty snuggly around the shoulders, there is a website floating around that I will try and find for you that shows a guy being able to put two fingers inbetween his chest and the strap. -Tom

Maybe you don't have it webbed correctly. There is a right way and a wrong way to web the shoulder straps. Inside edge on the top slot goes to the bottom edge of the bottom slot. This twist the webbing inward so it won't slide off your shoulders. Do it wrong and the straps want to slide off.

Notice the orientation of the shoulder straps.

used the same chart when I first threaded it. Ill double check when I get home though. Thanks. Maybe its just a bit tight. Ill have to try it out. Didnt want to play around with it last weekend because I had students. Since I could make it work I just left it alone in c ase I would have problems on my next dive.

Try tightening the waist and crotch straps. If they are sufficiently tight then there's no room for anything to slide or roll.
