I have a friend who has just moved to Seattle. Anyone have an open water instructor recommendation in the area. He is an accomplished athlete and ironman competitor.

I recommend talking to the people at 8 Diving in Des Moines. All of their NAUI instructors are top notch. My wife, daughters and I have all taken several classes from them and our son is starting his open water certification this weekend.

Being an instructor myself (inactiive with rebreather training, a baby, and pre production for a film with the grandson of some famous Fremch guy), I only recommend the folks at 8 as they're the only shop where students are taught neutrally buoyant and trimmed. And at a minimum, I believe all have been through fundies. A couple at least have been through T1.
