I was wondering what the average ratio ( student / instructor) is for pool work/ open water?

In a normal group class (i.e. not a private class), my shop averages five students per instructor for the class room/pool work.

In open water, it will be average of four students per instructor/divemaster team.

We limit the class to 10 students. During the Open Water Weekend we have at least 1 instructor and one Divemaster with each buddy team of 2 students for the skills portion of the dive and the Divemaster takes 2 students on the tour portion of the dive so the worst ratio we have is 2 students to 1 staff member at any time.
