I am staying in Duck in the Outer Banks August 20-31. I want to do some wreck diving and see as many sharks as possible. Any recommendations for a dive operator and/or site to visit? My wife will kill me if I drive a few hours and kill the entire day. So something close would be great. Thanks!!!

I don't think you're going to find TONS of Sand Tigers up there right now.

They are aggregating on the Caribsea right now. To dive there, you need to go down to Morehead City, most likely. Or maybe you can get a boat out of Hatteras to take you there. The 2 boats I know of that run out of Hatteras are Lion's Paw and the Under Pressure.

Check out the latest videos posted by Olympus. That's who I go out with to see the Sand Tigers.

This. I have been on boats out of Nag's Head to all the usual suspects up there (U-85, Buarque, Dionysus, etc.) and I don't remember ever seeing a sand tiger. Maybe I did and forgot about it, but @stuartv is spot on that you want to be running out of Hatteras, Beaufort or Morehead City to see sand tigers. They are so thick down there you sometimes can't move without kicking one.
