For 44 years Our World-Underwater has conducted the largest consumer based dive show in the Midwest. To celebrate its 45th consecutive year as the leader in Midwest Diving, Our World-Underwater has decided to expand its presence of a full-service dive show of a packed exhibition floor, seminars, workshops and hopefully film festivals to the Phoenix, Arizona and the Dallas, Texas areas. Response to this expansion, under the corporate name World of Water, from members of the dive industry has been overwhelmingly favorable. Many exhibitors are taking advantage of the multi-show discounts and booking all three shows.
Unfortunately, there has been some confusion throughout the dive industry that Patrick Hammer, Our World-Underwater President, says needs to be addressed. When we announced the dates and plans for World of Water events in Phoenix and Dallas, it was only after discussions with other show producers that there would not be any conflicts or territorial disputes. In fact, we went out of our way to make sure there would not be other events in those markets to do so would have been detrimental or damaging to those local markets. With that understanding, we moved ahead with our plans. Hammer went on to explain that in recent weeks there have been false reports circulating that Our World-Underwater had purchased these shows. . Its easy to see why people in the industry are confused. Let me state it clearly Our World-Underwater is not affiliated with US Dive Shows in any way. We have events scheduled for December 6th & 7th in Phoenix, January 24th & 25th in Frisco, Texas (just outside of Dallas) and then in Chicago (Rosemont) at end of February.
Early interest in ALL of the World of Water shows has been strong. Well-known companies including PADI, Worlds Best Dives, Quest Dive Adventures, Cane Bay Resort, Dive Provo and others have already signed up for all three shows. Hammer anticipates strong interest from the trade and local dive consumers.
Its unfortunate when false and misleading information gets out there, Hammer points out. Sherry and I wish Brad Nolan well in his efforts to start a show in the Midwest just a few weeks before DEMA, but he is not affiliated with any of our Shows.
