Bad news, way beyond not having 2.5 days of “dry diving fun”.

The industry is undeniably in a bad place.

That show is in a bad place.

I’m glad - no conflicts now with the much better Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival in Ann Arbor, which is the Saturday of the same weekend.

I’ve heard scuttlebutt about OUW, but I won’t repeat it here.

I disagree.

This is hugely bad for the sport and industry.

Wishing bad juju is always bad karma. Schadenfrueid is not productive, nor is conflicting scheduling by show promoters.

But your post and this one is irrelevant.

It’s gone, and our favorite endeavor is swirling the drain.

The pursuit of “Great Lakes Wreck Diving” will continue, but it’s a blip on the screen, otherwise the screen is getting very dark.

I drove completely around Lake Michigan this summer. In Michigan alone I didn’t find much in terms of a functional progressive LDS- but for one very nice example.

Another brick in the wall.

It’s no great loss the show was in a steady decline for years. Also Illinois especially cook county isn’t an efficient or cost effective place to have trade shows of any kind anymore.
