Cavern is a dedicated 2 day class plus a healthy amount of bookwork and online test before arrival. Alot of people come in that weekend to train and dive since it's a great 4+ day holiday. One of the best Cavern/Cave shops in Orlando is Dayo Scuba. Even though the online calendars says the shop is closed, trust me that TJ, Denise & Carol are busy teaching that weekend. Easy going teachers who have certified thousands of cavern & cave divers. Tell 'em I sent you and they'll tell you stories that are flat out lies or atleast no photo !!
It's mid October right now and you'll need to quickly schedule and start work on the class and arrangements (like books, car rental or rides). Cavern is a great class even for open water divers because you'll learn so many backup skills & tricks when things go awful wrong underwater.
