I just got back from a trip to Gulf Shores AL and was able to do my first salt water dive. What an exciting thing to go from my local quarry dive place to the open seas. I had never been out so far that I couldn't see the shore. Amazing vibrantly colored fish. Unbelievable!

I just want to encourage all 'inland' divers to do their training at their local dive spots because it truly pays off. I generally dive at Mermet Springs and they have done a great job getting me well trained for this trip. I just got my open water last summer and through the course of 25 dives I've built the confidence to be able to jump off a perfectly good boat into the 'abyss'. I try to view each dive as an opportunity to train, to learn. Practice, practice, practice.
