Hi there,

I'd like to do a tech diving trip to the Oriskany sometime within the next two months. I was wondering if there was anybody out there that could reccomend a good tech diving shop (GHe, 50%), and a tech friendly boat (the smaller the better) in the area? Most of the places I'm finding are recreational operations.

Thanks...

Call MBT divers in Pcola I beleave they have the gas..That is your best bet. They have a boat that goes out of there the Sea Scout and Capt. Loyd. Dove there last year very good boat..And going back in Nov. to dive the Big O.. Capt. Loyd is top notch.

David,

We made the drive up and were scheduled to dive with MBT but the wind picked up and the Called the dive. They seemed like a good operation though.

If you need mixed gas before you go I am doing fills in Deltona. O2, Nitrox, Trimix, Heliox, what ever flavor you like...

Capt. Lyod is great, but he has gotten a new job during the week with the college as head dive guy. He only does charters on weekends and holidays. Good news is that Doug runs the H2O for MBT and is also a great guy.

I saw in Japan the actually have "Oxygen Bars". apparently they have people sit at the bar and breath off O2 that is scented with different things and charge them a fortune.

We dove the "O" last weekend with www.vikingdivingpensacola.com, Tim Thorsen's operation. There were two Tech Divers aboard. It's a 6 pack and there were 4 divers in total. We all really like him, his professionalism and his boat. Good guy... he knows his stuff. He also videos the divers and sells them. We booked with Tim directly but I think you can book him through DivePros.

I've also heard good things about Dave Mucci. www.bluwateradventures.com/ Dave also takes tech divers and can be booked directly or through MBT.

Both do spearfishing and tech trips.

How does he video the divers if he is the captain?
