Well after going back and forth on buying a new BCD..I finally decided on the DSS LCD 30#wing/SS BP/Hog harness. I was torn between the DSS and the OMS but reading how much everybody likes the DSS gear made the choice easier...I think:confused: Now if anybody who lives in the DFW metroplex would like to come help me get it adjusted/setup it just might be worth me buying dinner!! YA free food!!

Dude - you will LOVE the DSS rig. I need to move into one soon so I can complete my full SoCal ensemble.

Tobin rocks. You got questions, the guy has answers. Unlike many manufacturers of those products, he is an active member of the dive community here on SB and get this: He actually dives.

You'll love it.

Excellent choice.

I just recently bought the exact same setup as you, and I am never going to dive a jacket again. This rig is stable, streamlined, and does everything you need it to do. It is a great product. Good Luck!

Definitely the best thing to do is to have an experienced person help you fit things. But for reading material and reference, check out this link:

Edit: This assumes that you got the standard hog harness.

Nice link, Adobo! (I'll be buying my first BP/W soon so this will come in handy. ;))

Congrats on your purchase, grumpymedic!

Congratulations -- you'll love the setup.

One piece of advice -- When you go to thread the harness, have a small pair of pliers handy. I've needed them to get the webbing through the elastomer inserts in the bottom slots both times I've put a DSS rig together.

I've had mine since July and can't say enough good things about it. Same setup as you got. And Lynne is right. A pair of needle nose or small channel locks will make threading much easier. But to not have to use keepers makes it worth it for me. It will come with a set of instructions that are really easy to understand. Just follow em step by step and it's a cinch. Adjusting is a little trickier but once you've done it a couple times it's a no brainer. I dive mine with a skin, polar tech, 5mil, and trilam drysuit so I got the adjusting thing figured out pretty quick. I was surprised that other than the drysuit the amount of adjustment is really minimal. I could almost set it for the 5 and forget it with a single tank. Doubles I think I'd be more discriminating but I'm just now putting mine together (2 sets-95's and a set of 72's) so we will see.

JimLap, a piece of hard-earned advice: When you go to doubles, cinch up that harness until it's as tight as you can have it and still get out of it.

I have found I can be pretty sloppy with a singles rig, and make my life real easy in the doff and don department. But you put doubles on with that much slop in the harness, and your life is immediately VERY difficult.

Just ordered one today as well. With the Torus 26# wing though.

Awesome..you guys are getting me excited now...I may have to go scale the fence at the local YMCA and take that bad boy for a test spin:D Tobin is one of the reasons why I went with the DSS..any manufacturer who will take the time to answer questions on SB like he does..shows me he really cares about his product and making sure the user has the best possible experience. Thanks everybody for all the info.
