Has anyone tried the Deep Outdoors Six Gill? I've read pretty good reviews, but would like a little confirmation. Recommendations on another open heel short enough to fit in a regular suitcase would likewise be appreciated. My Armor roller bag had one too many encounters with the airlines and is deceased. I'm using this as a chance to downsize the travel gear a bit.

Force Fins!!!!!:peepwalla
My wife swears by them...:D

Force Fins? My LDS has a few pair they have been unable to sell for years. I aasumed they were a bad Idea from the nineties. I'll probably give them a try.

Force Fins are misunderstood by a lot of people who don't want to break the mold and move away from having solid blades of rubber on their feet (INCOMING!!! Only joking, but you get my point...)

I love Force Fins, but you either love 'em or hate 'em, it seems. Well worth giving them a shot, though.

However, I have also tried the Six Gills and they worked really well. All the crap about the top bit working like a bellow, etc, I thought was a bunch of waffle, but in the water it actually worked like that – you could even feel it as you finned. Even the dodgy-looking strap stays on and is easy to take on and off.

Still like my FFs better, but for travelling, the Six Gill is a good choice because of its compact size.

My old Jet fins fit in a regular suitcase.

Had the chance to try the Six Gills when out in San Diego last month. I was very impressed. They are much lighter than my other fins, I could barely tell I had them on. Definitely pack easier as well.

I have only used 2 sets of fins. The originals I learned in and the six gill, so I cant offer extensive experience. But I bought a pair. I have about 6 dives on them now and really like them.

On two occasions I pulled a strap off though. So, I attached a clip on each fin so that now only one side of the strap comes off.
