Hi All,

Wanted to get an opinion on something.

I'm doing some gear config and I've got would normally use my 2 DR Hurricane regs as backgas regs (both O2 clean). I only have one deco reg, but I also have my recreational reg, an Oceanic TDX-5. I'm thinking about having it switched to DIN and using it as a BG reg, then just using one of my hurricanes when I need multiple stages (can't do this with the TDX-5 as it has titanium).

Bottom line is, is this reg acceptable for use as a backup/primary BG? It breathed absolutely fine at ~65m on air already.... Or should I just invest in another deco reg..?

The TDX5 would work fine as a BG reg. I know several guys using the CDX5 for backgas, it's the same reg but in brass.

Actually, I know titanium and O2 don't mix, but what if this reg was O2 cleaned and used with a max of 50%, would this be safe??
