I just don't log dives
Hi,

does anyone know of good dive operators that have AL80 or LP85 tanks with modular valves for sidemount?

I can do without modular valves but would prefer to have them if possible.

Thanks a lot!

I'm talking to Dive with Alison as I'll be diving with her on my next trip, I'll ask.

I've never heard of any here who have modular valves. There are some who have convertible valves if you have DIN regs, but I can't imagine that any dive op (unless they teach a lot of sidemount) would invest in modular ones.

They don't actually need to be modular. I think you're just looking for left and right valves. I think of modular valves being able to accept a manifold crosspiece.

iPhone. iTypo. iApologize.

Left and right normal valves work too, modular have a longer side post which is nice for wrapping the bungee

I teach my students "one up, one down" when there are only standard valves available in a case like this.

That's what I do. It's especially fun with yoke converters on the regs too!

yeah, I've done it before, it works OK but it's not ideal. As I know there's hp100/hp120 tanks available with some operators, I wondered if modular and lp85 were available too.

Why side mount dive in coz? Can you back roll with side mount lol?

Yes, you can back roll just fine in sidemount.

As to why.....the ability to see and reach your valves, redundancy and because it's just really comfortable are a few reasons off the top of my head.
