Opening Mares Proton Reg

hi there
does anybody know how to open the mares reg? i have to clean the diaphragm but i can`t seem to depress the push lock(?). god what happened to a simple screw off reg....maybe its not meant to be opened?
any help would be appreciated!

There is a little plastic pin that holds the cover in place. Need something small like a dental pick to pry out the pin, then simply unscrew.
