Oops....

I bought a brand new dive computer, Suunto Vytec DS with wireless transmitter, and when I read the directios it said to attach the transmitter to a high pressure port and that's when I realized my Scubapro MK200 first stage only has one HP port which is already connected to my SPG which I want to continue to use as backup.

It sounds like if I want both I have to buy a new first stage with two HP ports???

Is there anything else that can be done?

Thanks for any help.

I think both options have been covered:

1) new first stage
2) Adapter

I guess there is a third. Don't bother with a backup!

I have been diving my Epic for over 2 years now, and while I do keep an SPG as a backup, I have not needed it once.

If you are a technical diver, you are probably better off not using wireless air integration at all.

If you are a recreational diver, you really do not need a back up.

A splitter of some sort to allow two HP devices on one port will just add complication and increase the potential for failure, so it is best to avoid it.

Not both attached to the first stage at the same time at any rate. Just keep the back-up in your dive bag/save-a-dive. Many of us that use wireless AI's carry a back-up analog spg (spare transmitters are just to expensive).

P.S. If you go this route, don't be an ass like me and forget to have the proper size wrenches to R/R the stuff.

There ye go :)
Personally I don't like those wireless thingies as my observation has been that they are almost always having problems (or, I should say, it's gotten to the point that at least one diver on any boat is having problems with one).
But, if you like it, I'd recommend using it and carrying your brass & glass in your save-a-dive kit.

If you are diving two regulators, wireless on one and "brass and glass" on the other.
